NORBERT HACKL, PLS
PRESIDENT & SENIOR LAND SURVEYOR
Norbert Hackl is the President and Founding Principal at Alpine Surveying & Engineering. He is from Vienna, Austria and has lived in Bozeman since 1992. He graduated from Hoehere Technische Lehranstalt, a technical school for civil engineering in Vienna. He then received a First Diploma in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Agriculture and Rural Engineering in Vienna. He later attended Montana State University and completed 21 semester hours in advanced land surveying and civil engineering courses to receive formal education in these disciplines in the United States.
Norbert has over 20 years of land surveying experience and has been a business owner since 2002. He obtained his license as a Professional Land Surveyor in Montana in 2001. He has been a member of the Montana Association of Registered Land Surveyors (MARLS) since 1997 and is currently President of the South Central Chapter. He has been a member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors since 2006.
Norbert is currently Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Fort Ellis Volunteer Fire Department and has been on the Board since 2010. In 2020, Norbert began a term as a member of the Gallatin County Planning and Zoning Commission.
MORGAN BILLS, PLS
VICE PRESIDENT & LAND SURVEYOR
Morgan Bills is the Vice President and a Land Surveyor at Alpine Surveying & Engineering and has been a member of the team since 2015. He is from Vermont and has lived in Bozeman since 2007. He graduated from Montana State University with a B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology with a minor in Land Surveying. He has a broad range of land surveying experience, is proficient with Auto CAD Civil 3D and Carlson Survey, and has also worked in construction management.
Morgan has been a member of the Montana Association of Registered Land Surveyors since 2015.
JAKE MCNEFF, LSIT
SURVEY CREW CHIEF
Jake McNeff is a Survey Crew Chief at Alpine Surveying & Engineering. He obtained a B.S. in Architectural Studies from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Architecture from Montana State University. After more than 14 years of experience working as an Architect, Jake began pursuing a career as a Land Surveyor. He received a Certificate of Cadastral Surveying from the University of Wyoming and is currently licensed as a Land Surveyor in Training.
Jake and his family are happy to be back in Bozeman where Jake will be working toward obtaining a PLS license in Montana.
CLINT LITLE, PE
SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER & PROJECT MANAGER
Clint Litle is a Senior Civil Engineer and Project Manager at Alpine Surveying & Engineering. Clint is a 4th generation Bozeman native and graduated from Montana State University with a B.S. in Construction Engineering.
Clint has over 30 years of civil engineering experience including many years in office manager positions. He specializes in commercial, light industrial and residential site development He obtained his Professional Engineering license in 1991 and is currently licensed in Montana, North Dakota and Washington State. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and is a member of the Montana State University Civil Engineering Accreditation Board.
BILL DREYER, PE
SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER & PROJECT MANAGER
Bill Dreyer is a Senior Civil Engineer and Project Manager at Alpine Surveying & Engineering. He is a Bozeman native and graduated from Montana State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
Bill has more than 20 years of experience in engineering project management from inception through construction. Before becoming an engineer, Bill worked in the construction industry where he learned unique insights into avoiding construction problems. His previous projects include work in site design and storm water conveyance and treatment, subdivision planning and permitting, various-sized wastewater and water treatment facilities, electrical substation site design, specification preparation, and general site design.
EVAN VINGER, EIT
CIVIL ENGINEER IN TRAINING
Evan Vinger is a Civil Engineer in Training at Alpine Surveying & Engineering. He is a 3rd generation Bozeman native and graduated from Montana State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
Evan has more than 10 years of experience in installation of on-site wastewater and water treatment facilities, along with over 3 years of general site and wastewater system design with Vinger Excavation and Septic. He also has experience in the construction industry where he learned insights in construction process and installation. Evan is proficient using Carlson Civil Suite. Evan will be working toward obtaining a PE license in Montana.
SCOTT NELSON, PE
CIVIL ENGINEER & PROJECT MANAGER
Scott A. Nelson is a Civil Engineer at Alpine Surveying & Engineering. Scott is a Montana native and graduated in 1987 from Montana State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Scott began his career in 1974 as a Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant and Systems Operator for the National Park Service in Yellowstone National Park. He worked in Yellowstone until 1982 and each summer while attending MSU.
Scott obtained his Professional Engineering (PE) license in 1990 and has over 30 years of design and construction management experience in civil engineering projects. Scott specializes in new construction and rehabilitation of water and wastewater systems, pipelines, and pump stations. He also has experience in commercial and industrial site development, transportation and storm drainage. He is currently licensed in Montana and California.
Will Reed has been a Survey Assistant at Alpine Surveying & Engineering since 2016.
